The Santa Fe Christian Eagles men's golf team completed Coastal League play this week traveling to the Bishops Knights at La Jolla Country Club. The Eagles were coming off their lone league loss of the year the week before to Classical Academy, and knew that a win at LJCC would mean that they would be Coastal League Champs.
Bishops and SFC have been the top two teams in the Division 3 of CIF for the better part of the last 8 years, and typically play close matches whenever they match up with SFC earning a victory the first time the teams matched up at home. And that would be the same outcome as they traveled this time around. Consistent play from the whole team is what guided the boys to a win, with only 5 shots separating the lowest and highest scores of the day. The Eagles bested the Knights 198 to 206, and completed the Coastal League with a record of 9-1, making them Coastal League Champions for 2024. This is the first league title since 2017, and the teams 4th overall.
SFC finished the regular season with a 13-4 record, with a team handicap of 15.46. The Eagles finished the year ranked 9th in San Diego County, and a bye directly into CIF Finals where they will try to win their third CIF Division 3 title.
Let's Go Eagles!
