The SFC’s men’s varsity soccer team took on Jewish Academy for the first regular season game. In the ninth minute, left wing back Kian Hogan scored off a great pass by captain Noah Suemnick. Then in the 29 minute, center mid Hudson Gomez took a free kick and placed the ball perfectly for striker Stephen Britton to make a great heading goal to push the Eagles out in front by two. In the last 10 minutes of the game, The Jewish Academy scored to end the half 2 to 1, SFC. The second half was a combination of pure physicality and hunger for more goals. Kian Hogan, with the ambition to score a header, took a massive blow to the head, giving the Eagles a penalty kick. Captain Noah Suemnick scored the penalty bottom right. But following right after the penalty, The Jewish Academy answered with another goal. The last 15 minutes of the game were very competitive, leaving both teams and the fans with no idea what the outcome would be. But Santa Fe closed out the tough game 3 to 2 at the Jewish Academy. The eagles next game is on Thursday, the 18th of January at home. They are playing Pacific Ridge, so make sure to go and support the Eagles.
