Wednesday night your SFC women’s lacrosse team battled against the Mustangs and lost a close game 19-20. The lady Eagles started off their season opener slow, down by 5 points, in the first half. The girls made a huge comeback in the 2nd half matching the Mustangs, score for score, with the clock running out too soon to answer with a win. This is the first time the lady Eagles have faced the SDA Mustangs.
This young team consists of 9 freshman, 9 sophomores, 6 juniors and 1 senior. Birthday girl, Lana Davis (’22) scored 8 goals, Mayah Dumas (’21) 6 goals, Natalia Raiszadeh (’23) contributed with 3 goals and Emery Leggett (’20) with 2 goals. Goalie, Alyssa Pedersen (’21) protected the goal against SDA’s leading scorer, Clare Urbanic, a junior that is verbally committed to UC Davis.
The girls made a strong showing in their season opener, displaying grit and determination, as they fought hard but came up short in the last seconds.
Come out and cheer your Lady Eagles on to victory at their next game Saturday, March 14th - 1pm at Bishops.
