Our Boys Tennis team is currently 4-5 in their overall standings. We have had some close matches, and have bounced back from losses and won!! Our first match against Pacific Ridge, we lost 12-6 and then two weeks later, we beat them 10-8. Our team is competitive and strive to improve. We are working on working smarter and harder each practice. Our Singles line up is full of solid players; Senior Noah Hendren, who has pulled us to victory with solid wins, Senior David Pretorius, Junior Alexander Hamm, Junior Spencer Dougherty, who has frustrated many opponents with his tactical consistency and hustle! Our doubles team have improved in being more aggressive and more consistent. Our first match with San Marcos, the doubles line up struggled, but yesterday, even though we lost, we took their top teams to tie breakers and scores of 5-7. Senior Shaun Edwards and Junior Jack Creelman had match points on their fingertips. Freshman Andrew Chiang and Alexander Hamm were on a comeback and barely lost. Sophomore Drew Schmidt who usually plays singles paired with Shaun and they had opportunities but didn’t close it out. Sophomore Daniel John and Freshman Matthew Hamm played a tough match but played some very smart points and just needed to win more key points in our no-ad scoring yesterday. The whole squad is getting more experience each match and are entering into their league season, however we have tough opponents, so the key is to compete every point! Our aim is to have fun and bring honor and glory to God in all we say and do!!
