On Monday night, our SFC men’s lacrosse team lost a close, defensive battle with the Grossmont High School Foothillers. The final score was 4-5. The SFC defense continued its strong play giving up only 5 goals to the undefeated Foothillers. Looking back, Grossmont was undefeated last season before losing in the early rounds of the D1 CIF playoffs. The SFC defense has given up only 12 goals in 3 games, an average of 4 goals per game. Way to go defense!
Highlights for the Game: Colton Lehberg lost only 1 face-off and had a 92% face-off win percentage. Jack Winters lead SFC scoring with 2 goals and Preston Graubart had 2 assists. Sam Cooper had 12 saves for the Eagles.
SFC’s next game is against Coronado on Wednesday night at 7:00 at Coronado High School. Last year your SFC Eagles beat Coronado in the first round of the Open Division Playoffs on a Preston Graubart assisted goal by Camden Morris with about 30 seconds to play. The Islanders will be out for revenge on Wednesday night.
Go Eagles!
