The SFCS boys varsity tennis team served up a unique community service project called “Brotherly Court Connection” on April 10th, 2024. The idea came about during a match with Valley Center HS earlier in season when we noticed one of their players was playing in crocs, another wearing the coaches shoes, many had worn out equipment and they didn’t have any snacks or drinks.
Our SFCS boys and parents pulled together and generously donated a new pair of shoes for each boy (total of 11), sports socks, 6 pair of gently used shoes, rackets, tennis bags, new backpacks along with a cooler full of Gatorade, water and a table of snacks! A round robin tournament format teamed our players with theirs adding to the fellowship. The trophy went to the school with the most wins and Valley Center HS edged us out by 1 game. Prizes to top 3 finishers from each school were also awarded. Smiles all around added up to a smashingly successful event allowing us to lift up our fellow competitors.
Let's Go Eagles!
