On Wednesday the Eagles played host to the red-hot Morse Tigers. The Tigers entered the game with a 13 and 2 record on the season. The Eagles undefeated record was solid as well, and the battle of the early season titans was on.
Bryn Henson opened the day with a double in the bottom of the first and an error on Olivia Anderson’s fly ball to center brought home the Eagles first run. In the third the Eagles struck again. With two outs in the inning, Aspen Lee, Bryn Henson, and Olivia Anderson all walked loading the bases for Maddie Binnie. Binnie delivered a triple scoring 3 runs and giving the Eagles a 4 to 0 lead.
In the 4th inning the Eagles stuck again. Consecutive hits from Aspen Lee, Bryn Henson, Olivia Anderson, Maddie Binnie, Maya Tyszkiewicz, Torin Bennett, and a triple for Kayla Crecion added five more runs to the Eagles tally. The Tigers broke through for a run in the top of the fifth and the Eagles matched it with a run in the bottom half of the inning.
In the bottom half of the sixth inning the Eagles offense kept rolling. Samantha Kim gained a lead off walk. She was replaced at first by Kayla Crecion on a fielder’s choice. With 2 outs Peyton McKenna and Siena Porcelli gained walks loading the bases. Bryn Henson then lined a doubled to center field, her third hit on the day, picking up 2 RBIs and ending the game with a 12 to 1 win for SFC.
Olivia Anderson continued her dominating ways on the mound giving up only one hit and one run in the game. She struck 11 and allowed 4 walks in route to her fourth victory of the year. Bryn Henson, 3 for 4 with two doubles, and Maddie Binnie 2 for 4 with a triple and 4 RBIs led the offense.
The Eagles advanced their record to 7 – 0- 1 with the win and get set to play Division 3 Canyon Crest Academy on Wednesday.
