The SFC Men’s and Women’s Water Polo programs have made great strides under the leadership of Head Coach David Bennett. Over the past several years the Women have won two CIF Championships to go along with a historic run at a state title last year. Just this fall, the Men had one of their best seasons in school history as they captured a league title and finished the season as runner-ups in the San Diego Section CIF Championship game.

Both programs can attribute their success to the commitment and dedication of their student athletes. Because SFC does not have its own pool on campus, Water Polo athletes play and practice at the Boys and Girls Club in Solana Beach. Due to limited pool time and availability throughout the course of the year, the Eagles are accustomed to late night practices that require athletes to manage their time well in order to perform at a high level both academically and athletically. It's not unusual to have our Polo players at the pool after 9:30 pm!

After such an incredible season last year that saw the lady Eagles make a run in the state playoffs, this year’s team finds themselves in a bit of a rebuilding process after graduating several key players. The Lady Eagles have a rich culture to build on and there is no doubt that they will continue to find success in their efforts.

Over Christmas break Coach Bennett held an alumni game which had over 17 former Lady Eagles return to the pool to play a game against this year's team. The alumni turnout is a testament to the great experiences and relationships created within the program. Coach Bennett is assisted by River Stambaugh (Class of 2018) who returned to coach both the Men’s and Women’s Water Polo programs just this past year. SFC athletics is beyond proud of our Water Polo program and all of our athletes past and present!

The Ladies return to the pool this Saturday at 4:15 pm to take on University City at home as they kick off the new year and get ready for league play.
