Eagle's Men's LAX team plays tough against rival Torrey Pines. Both teams honor the 15forLife Foundation to raise awareness about depression and mental health
Riding a 3-game win streak, including wins against two of the top teams in SoCal, the Eagles came into their regular season matchup with Torrey Pines confident and ready to challenge the 3x defending San Diego Section champs.
The Eagles struck first and went up 2-0 early in the first quarter. TP answered back, and it was a tightly contested, back-and-forth game through the remainder of the first half, with the Eagles trailing 5-6 at the break.
The Eagles continued to battle throughout the second half; however, the Falcons were able to hold SFC to just 3 goals in the half while making the necessary adjustments to get through the Eagles' defense in different ways to score 7 of their own to end the game at 8-13.
Although the game did not turn out as the team hoped, the team played a solid game and kept the annual matchup's score differential to its lowest gap ever. This is great progress and motivation for when we meet the Falcons again!
Most importantly, the Eagles held their composure and demonstrated great sportsmanship in a very physical and tough game.
The Eagles face another challenging opponent on Tuesday, 4/16 when they travel up the road to take on La Costa Canyon. JV plays at 5:30 p.m., and Varsity faces off at 7:30 p.m. Come out and support your Eagles!
