The SFC Women’s Water Polo completes the regular season with a victory. Our Eagles finished the regular season Ranked #1 in D3 for San Diego
The team won its final game of the regular season with a conference victory over Mira Mesa by a score of 11-3. The Lady Eagles finished the regular season with a record of 20-6. The team also finished the season with a perfect 8-0 record to win the San Diego City Conference.
The team was led by Mylin Bennett with three goals, three assists and four steals on defense. Revere Schmidt led the scoring with five goals while also winning two sprints and making two steals. Senior captain, Ryan Rodriguez had two goals and made two steals. Sofia Gonzalez added the final Eagles goal. Kylie Kennard kept the pressure on at set and drew four exclusions on the Marauder’s defense to keep the Eagles in control through the game. Olivia Davis also drew two exclusions and added a steal. Gisselle Fenby was tough at guard, as she has been all season, and added two steals. Charlotte Adams and Annie Marx split the goaltending duty allowing only three goals in the game. Charlotte made six saves and added two assists. Annie made four saves.
The CIF playoff brackets will be announced on Saturday and the Lady Eagles are expected to be one of the top seeds. The Eagles should open CIF play with a second-round game on Feb 14th at La Jolla’s Coggan Aquatic Center.
